Here's what some of our other teammates have to say about working for Marston's...
Sam Glickman, Marketing Assistant
"I joined Marston’s on a three month work experience placement in the Wychwood brands marketing team. I was involved with the Hobgoblin brand, which was really exciting. It’s such a huge brand, with its unofficial ownership of Halloween, music festival sponsorship – there was so much going on! I also got to work with some of the new craft beers, so there was loads of variety. It gave me a great insight into how a brand is born and how you make sure it is successful. The main thing that came across during my placement was the passion everyone at Marston’s has for the beers.
At the end of my work experience I was offered a permanent role in the team, working on the Wainwright golden beer, which I was thrilled about. The opportunity to work on one of the drive brands which is in the early stages of a brand new campaign is one that I am really enjoying. It’s great to be part of a growing business, with products it’s easy to be passionate about."
Hannah Phillips, Customer Service Advisor
"I first became interested in a career with Marston’s after hearing from a family member how welcoming the business has been since she started working there.
I’m pleased to say that my experience was just the same! I feel very at home here. The team I work in is really encouraging, your opinions matter and hard work is recognised and appreciated. Everyone here goes above and beyond for their customers. Our amazing new office is a really relaxed and homely place to work, and I can honestly say that I look forward to going to work every day!"
Brogan Hunt, Trainee Accountant
"My role is to provide support, performance information and management board reports to a range of people across the free trade part of our business. Two weeks of each month involve month end duties, such as the checking of accounts and producing reports for senior management, Business Development Managers and Regional Managers. The remainder of the month is spent responding to ad hoc queries, creating reports and analysing the results and assisting Business Development Managers with any financial queries. I also attend the regional sales team meetings.
Marston’s is a really supportive company. When I joined Marston’s I had a thorough induction which gave me an insight into all aspects of my departments and how all the different teams interlink, which has made doing my job much easier.
I am nearing the end of my AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) final level. Following from this I will be studying for CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) in January. Development is really valued here, and I have experienced that first hand, as Marston’s has funded my courses and supported me with time off for study leave too."
