Finance Manager 

Head Office - Wolverhampton

The Role:

Managing a small team to provide financial support to the Operations teams, with a view to improving sales and profitability. Responsible for all aspects of financial analysis for the Community and Venture pub estates (circa 600 pubs). A key Business Partner to 2 Operations Directors, influencing decision making at all levels to optimize results.

Key Attributes & Responsibilities:

  • Presenting insightful information at Operations meetings to maximise profitability.
  • Ownership of full P&L for Community and Venture pub estates, including period end reporting and analysis.
  • Leading and developing a Finance Business Partner and Trainee Accountant to reach their full potential.
  • Monthly forecasting to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Ensuring delivery of month end / year end timetables
  • Analysing performance of pubs to highlight under and over achievement and providing insight on how best performance can be mirrored across all sites.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance on ad hoc projects as and when required.
  • Developing a relationship with the Operations teams to become a key Business Partner.
  • Working closely with the rest of the Commercial Finance Team and other Pub Support functions to share best practice and align future plans.
  • Liaise with Head of FP&A to produce stretching, but achievable Budgets on an annual basis.
  • R.O.I. analysis on capex/ marketing spend.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Be a qualified Accountant (preferably CIMA) with at least 3 years PQE
  • Possess the ability to meet tight deadlines, whilst having an eye for detail, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have high levels of commercial acumen and the ability to challenge stakeholders at all levels.
  • Have good communication, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Possess strong IT skills particularly Excel and other Microsoft packages. Experience with SAP or similar packages would be beneficial.
  • Ideally have a multi-site retail / hospitality background.
  • An experienced Business Partner able to collaborate, persuade and influence decision making.
  • Have a track record of improving financial processes and streamlining duplication of data.
