Marston’s is more than just a world-renowned brewery: we’re also home to one of the UK’s largest and most successful pub chains. Now, we’re on the lookout for a great General Manager to take charge at the Lockkeeper and lead the team to success!

About the pub

The Lockkeeper is perfectly situated on the outskirts of Worksop with the main A57 on one side and the picture perfect Chesterfield canal on the other. The business sits within vast grounds so it’s a great opportunity for the new General Manager to use this space to drive the business forward. The business operates under our Carvery brand with the added bonus of a 28 bedroom lodge. Internal and external children’s area and large footprint of covers.

We are looking for a manager Ideally from a high food volume driven business within a carvery operation who comes with hotel knowledge. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are a people and standards focused leader who can  engage with the local community and be able to drive the hotel externally with B2B sales driving activities. 

Weekly sales : £36,000
Sales Mix : W/D/H 25/50/25
Brand : Carvery with Lodge 
Managers Accommodation : live off site

A day in the life...

Hi, I'm Lewis

My induction with Marston’s was tailored so I visited sites that were going to be similar to mine.

I spent time with a ‘buddy’ manager from a nearby site – he was a great guy and really honest and talked to me about the culture of Marston’s as well as the day to day running of the business.

My Area Manager, Nigel was really supportive and if he didn’t have the answer he would pull on his network of experts to support.

Induction

Opening a new build pub

On the opening day there was so many people coming in but I wasn’t worried as I had every type of support there to help it run smoothly. The whole board came down for a meal at my pub, the CEO and the Managing Director are really nice people and down to earth too!
