The successful candidate will support the Head of Group Communications with the development and implementation of the Communications Strategy. Job Role:

• To work alongside two other Comms Managers to deploy the communications strategy, ensuring it meets business needs now and in the future
• To develop and deliver communications across Marston’s, both internally and externally, in line with business objectives and supporting the People strategy
• To act as a ‘business partner’ for a Marston’s business division – developing divisional stakeholder relationships, providing advice and support, and garnering insight and feedback
• To develop engaging communications for a range of channels, including email, cascade briefings, social media, intranet, audio / video, publications, newsletters, website, etc. 
• To create and manage fresh and inspiring communication campaigns and projects – from researching initial concepts and planning through to final delivery and evaluation – that promote various business projects and activities
• To be responsible for the launch, ongoing development and maintenance of assigned core channels, e.g. Yammer, intranet, digital newsletters, email, social media.
• To build strong stakeholder relationship, giving great insight into business / employee needs, and advising, guiding and producing communications to support their needs
• To manage agencies and consultants to support in the development of a range of content, such as video, design and animation
• To support the communication approach during periods of change – for example, acquisitions or organisational change
• To assist with the organisation and arrangements for a range of internal conferences and events
• To support the team by maintaining key databases and managing the distribution of a range of announcements, publications and other collateral
• To provide regular workload reports, internal communications research and evaluation activity
• To identify and capture newsworthy leads, feeding them into the team content huddles and supporting the development of stories


Ideal candidate:

• Passionate about making a difference through developing engaging and inspiring communications
• A great multi-tasker who enjoys working at pace on a range of projects at the same time
• Someone who likes to work on something from inception to completion – seeing through their vision and ensuring it’s worked successfully
• A ‘people person’ who can network and build trusting relationships at all levels
• Produces quality outputs every time and has an eye for detail
• A team player who wants to help out and get stuck in when need be, as well as being able to work independently
• Digitally and social media savvy, understanding current channels, developing creative content and is eager to keep evolving and learning
• Has 3-5 years’ experience supporting a business in a communication team / function and is comfortable advising on communication and engagement needs at any level
• Experienced of Yammer, SharePoint, digital email systems would be desirable
• Has worked in a multi-site environment where front-line employees are particularly hard to reach and engage – retail / leisure industry experience would be ideal, but not essential
