Kitchen Assistant / Porter
Marston’s is one of the UK’s largest and most beloved pub chains and today, we operate more than 1,400 pubs, bars and hotels. Now, we’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our fast paced and fun kitchen team.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll provide the vital support our chefs need to create delicious, mouth-watering dishes for all our customers. You’ll be eager to learn on the job as you get stuck in and keep the busy kitchen running smoothly. Perhaps you'll want to climb the culinary ladder? We’ll support you to complete your Chefs Professional Development training and help you work your way up to Line Chef and beyond.

As a Kitchen Assistant you’ll:

  • Work alongside the chefs during prep and service
  • Keep all areas of the kitchen clean and free of clutter
  • Play an important part in a well-oiled, close-knit team
  • Have the opportunity to learn the ropes of the Line Chef role
  • Show pride in the foods you prep and serve

A day in the life...

Hi, I'm Lewis

My induction with Marston’s was tailored so I visited sites that were going to be similar to mine.

I spent time with a ‘buddy’ manager from a nearby site – he was a great guy and really honest and talked to me about the culture of Marston’s as well as the day to day running of the business.

My Area Manager, Nigel was really supportive and if he didn’t have the answer he would pull on his network of experts to support.

Induction

Dedicated support

My Area Manager, Nigel was really supportive and if he didn’t have the answer he would pull on his network of experts to support, including the recruitment and training teams.

Opening a new build pub

On the opening day there was so many people coming in but I wasn’t worried as I had every type of support there to help it run smoothly. The whole board came down for a meal at my pub, the CEO and the Managing Director are really nice people and down to earth too!
