Trainee Finance Business Partner
As part of our company strategy to be the #1 Local Pub Company and Employer of Choice, we’re searching for two ambitious Trainee Finance Business Partners to join our Finance team and support Pub Operations with their financial planning and management.
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, these are developmental roles, ideal for those looking to pursue a career in finance and wishing to become a qualified CIMA Accountant. Enjoying full support from an experienced Finance team, the role itself is hands-on, and you should enjoy working at pace in a lively environment. You will have plenty of opportunity to demonstrate how you can turn complex information into meaningful insights that helps drive business performance.
These are hybrid roles, partially based at Marston’s award-winning, modern offices in central Wolverhampton with some travel required across our pub estate. As such applicants must hold a full UK driving licence
Could you
- Support the Finance Business Partners at key Operations meetings, providing financial insight.
- Take ownership of various cost lines including period end reporting and analysis.
- Ensure invoices for key cost lines are approved in a timely manner
- Support the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting.
- Analyse and interpret data into a ‘reader friendly’ format to be shared with others
- Develop a relationship with the Operations team to become a point of contact for financial queries and providing day to day support.
- Present and communicate Financial Information to Ops and other stakeholders as the role develops
- Be actively involved in key decision making, helping Marston’s achieve their vision to be the number one Local Pub Company in the UK.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- AAT Qualified or Part CIMA Qualified OR Educated to degree level with a focus on Finance
- Able to meet tight deadlines on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Keen to pursue a career in Finance with the aim of becoming CIMA qualified
- Excellent communication, analytical and presentation skills.
- Strong IT skills particularly Excel and other Microsoft packages.
- Full UK Driving Licence mandatory – travel to meetings and pubs will be required.
Desirable
- Experience with SAP would be beneficial, however full training will be provided.
