About the pub

The Sweet Chestnut is a fabulous open‑plan pub with an adjoining 26‑bedroom hotel. The restaurant features a carvery deck on one side, complemented by family dining throughout, a welcoming bar area, and an additional dining space. Outside, there is a large garden area which offers as many covers as the interior, creating a versatile space for guests year‑round.

Situated on a busy retail park just off the M90 on the edge of Dunfermline, the business benefits from high footfall as well as ample shared parking. With hotel occupancy increasing week by week, we are now looking to further build the drinks side of the business, especially alongside the already popular food offer. The carvery, in particular, is extremely busy – especially on Sundays – and continues to be a key strength.

Because of this growth, we are seeking an experienced General Manager with a proven ability to drive sales, maintain exceptional attention to detail, and deliver great food quality alongside an outstanding guest journey. You will be a hands‑on leader who leads by example, and ideally you will bring hotel experience, as this is central to the site’s ongoing success.

With an impressive weekly take of £42k – split across 20% wet, 50% dry, and 30% rooms – this site offers huge potential for continued growth. As a self‑motivated and collaborative leader, you’ll be joining a well‑established and supportive team both on site and across the wider area.

Management accommodation is available in the form of a 3-bedroom flat.

Care about finding, growing and engaging your team. Be accountable for running all aspects of your pub and hotel. Be passionate about doing the right thing for your team and your guests. Dream big and think differently about new ways to increase sales and growth. Celebrate and create a buzz by sharing enjoyable experiences.
