We're looking for a General Manager for a lovely community pub in Dunstable. Salary up to £45,000 plus bonus and a generous benefits package. 

Marston’s is one of the UK’s largest and most beloved pub chains and today, we operate more than 1,300 pubs, bars and hotels. Now, we’re on the lookout for a great General Manager to take charge at the Market Cross in Dunstable and lead the team to success!

About the pub

This is an amazing opportunity for a community led general manager. This is a successful carvery business set in a retail park with a vast array of branded retail outlets and fast food operations meaning plenty of passing trade.

The site is currently trading at around £22,000 weekly with a food led split of 65/35.

The Market Cross already has successful events nights, live music nights, sports teams and a thriving customer base ranging across all ages in particular families that cater for all occasions. 

The pub also benefits from a pool table and television with the capacity to grow sales by utilising these.

It has a large car-park and housing behind the pub so there's opportunity as a drive to destination while being accessible for the local community and shoppers.

There is 3 bedroom accommodation available to the General Manager.

I spent time with a ‘buddy’ manager from a nearby site – he was a great guy and really honest and talked to me about the culture of Marston’s as well as the day to day running of the business.

My Area Manager, Nigel was really supportive and if he didn’t have the answer he would pull on his network of experts to support.

Induction

Opening a new build pub

On the opening day there was so many people coming in but I wasn’t worried as I had every type of support there to help it run smoothly. The whole board came down for a meal at my pub, the CEO and the Managing Director are really nice people and down to earth too!
