Overview

The Legal Admin team support the process of entering our self-employed pub operators into their pubs on a variety of agreements including Retail, Franchise, Tenancy and Lease.

The team ensures the legal compliance throughout the process with the Pubs Code Legislation 2016 for both parties (Marston’s and the Operator). They are responsible for the whole process from collating and reviewing all the information provided and received compiling the contracts, ensuring all documentation is signed and up to date and is fully compliant. They need to undertake the workload in a timely fashion.

There is now an opportunity for a Property ParalegalTeam Leader to join the team to ensure the continued success of the team providing support to our stakeholders.

The Property ParalegalTeam Leader will report directly to the Head of Estates Compliance and their day to day responsibilities will include:

·       Team Leader of circa 5 direct reports, offering guidance and support to all team members.

·       Conducting monthly one to ones, monitoring objectives and KPI’s. Completing the annual PCDR process for all direct reports.

·       Managing all aspects of the team in conjunction, where necessary with HR.

·       Liaising with the Code Compliance Officer to ensure full compliance with the Pubs Code.

·       Liaising with internal and external parties to ensure timely and compliant letting of pubs.

·       Monitoring and updating processes, reviewing and updating to ensure ongoing compliance.

·       Maintaining estates tracker and communicating these to the operational teams

·       Provide support to all internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will:

·       Previous experience of managing a team.

·       Demonstrate good man-management skills.

·       Demonstrate good inter-personnel skills.

·       Work well under pressure.

·       Demonstrate leadership qualities, able to offer guidance, coaching and support in best practice.

·       Be an effective communicator, able to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

·       Reflect and uphold the Company’s Leadership behaviours.

·       Organised, experienced and knowledgeable on legal best practice.

·       Legal qualification preferred.
