We have a fantastic opportunity for a Pricing & Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Marketing team at Marston’s. This is a varied role where you will be responsible for the evaluation of the pricing and promotional strategy across the business, as well as the analysis of the commercial activity made by the business.

We need you to be passionate about data, have sound commercial understanding and experience working with complex data sets to solve unique and varied problems as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a broad role that influences key decisions across Marston’s Pubs and Bars and as such you need to be able to confidently and concisely deliver views and recommendations to all levels of the business in a timely and professional manner.

Key Attributes & Responsibilities:

  • Complete commercial modelling of various menus across the business, working closely with the Food Category and Retail Marketing teams during the development process
  • Providing timely analysis and monitoring of marketing activity to ensure the impact of activity is known and future decisions can be accurately guided by past results helping us raise the bar and grow
  • Monitoring competitor pricing patterns and reviewing promotional activity
  • Driving Guest obsessed through collaborating with the Guest Experience & Insight team to develop the analysis of hard and soft Guest metrics and their impact on improving commercial performance
  • Working with the Drinks Category team to review pricing across drinks categories for the formats
  • Work with the Information Team to ensure that all data required is available, accurate and relevant
  • Involvement in other ad hoc projects requiring pricing and/or analytical involvement

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A love of all things data! Have previous experience working with large sets of data with the goal of manipulating it to help influence business decisions
  • Have a confident and engaging personality with the courage to challenge decisions and be trusted in their capabilities
  • Have strong excel and mathematical ability
  • Enjoy being inquisitive and using initiative to develop their own and the teams work
  • Be proactive and committed in building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Sees the importance of self-development, keen to learn from others and to share knowledge to grow personally.
